    In 2018, there were 58 Uber-related fatalities, and the company failed to track non-fatal crashes. Although Uber accepts some accidents as “Uber-related,” they are unlikely to accept liability. Uber classifies its drivers as contractors instead of employees, which means the company does not automatically accept responsibility for the actions of Uber drivers.
